TBS order for man who stabbed police dog in Utrecht

A court sentenced 35-year-old Mike K. from De Meern to 288 days in prison and a TBS order with compulsory treatment for setting fire to two vans, threatening police officers and stabbing a police dog during New Year’s events in Utrecht. One report said he had wanted police to shoot him.

The prison term equalled the time he had already spent in pretrial detention, so he does not have to return to prison. The court said treatment for his mental health problems should begin as soon as possible.
