Study finds losses across the organic supply chain
◆1 source
Research by Wageningen University, commissioned by the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), found that the higher prices consumers pay for organic products are not cost-effective, with almost every part of the chain—from farmers to consumers—incurring losses. The ACM said less far-reaching sustainability programmes are generally better suited to farmers and should also be promoted abroad, for example through a “sustainable Frau Antje”.
