PRO proposal for infrastructure funding

PRO said that increased funding for infrastructure should be part of an overall agreement with the cabinet during the parliamentary debate on the Infrastructure and Water Management budget. MP Habtamu de Hoop said higher public debt could be one way to raise the money.

He also mentioned road-pricing charges and funds from defence as possible options.

Frisian MPs call for a timeline on the Kornwerderzand locks and the Ameland connection

Frisian MPs Lucienne Boelsma of the CDA and Marieke Vellinga of D66 called for a timeline for widening the locks at Kornwerderzand and creating a new connection to Ameland. Habtamu de Hoop of Pro also called for additional infrastructure through a comprehensive agreement with the cabinet. The MPs said the lock expansion and the Ameland connection should be addressed later. No further status was reported.
