King Filip and Queen Mathilde travelled to Kazakhstan for a three-day state visit, arriving in Astana on Sunday and being welcomed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The visit officially began on Monday with a ceremony at the presidential palace. In Astana, the couple visited a rehabilitation centre, where they spoke with children, and Filip addressed the Kazakh-Belgian Business Council, calling for deeper economic cooperation between the two countries. On the final evening in Astana, Filip and Mathilde attended a reception for Belgians living in Kazakhstan and their Kazakh partners. On Wednesday, the couple visited Almaty, where they tried archery and attended a performance by Brussels choreographer Ula Sickle at a contemporary art museum. The state visit then ended.

King Filip received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Royal Palace in Brussels on Thursday. Photos shared by the Belgian court showed the two heads of state speaking during the meeting. Zelensky had most recently been received at the palace in June, according to the account.
