Dutch energy support for Ukraine
◆3 sources
Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sjoerd Sjoerdsma announced support for Ukraine’s energy sector during a visit to Kyiv, aimed at helping it through winter and repairing power facilities damaged in Russian attacks. Reports gave differing figures for the energy assistance: one put it at €40 million, while another said €55 million in subsidies for Dutch energy companies assisting Ukraine.
One report also said €136 million would be made available to help Dutch companies begin doing business in Ukraine. A separate report described a €1.2 billion military-support package, partly intended to help Ukraine endure the winter.
