Delmée recalls Telgenkamp to the Dutch training group

Dutch men’s hockey coach Jeroen Delmée said Duco Telgenkamp would return to the training group when the team reunited on November 2, following the Netherlands’ controversial World Cup semi-final against Spain last summer. Telgenkamp was given a time penalty after being provoked while the score was 1-1. Delmée said he believed in Telgenkamp’s character and abilities, and assumed the player had learned from the incident.

Delmée said the team had not handled the aftermath well during the tournament and needed to rebuild its collective strength. The Netherlands’ stated objective is to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, with the Pro League and next summer’s European Championship in London offering qualification opportunities.
