Mustapha Cassiem scored the winning goal for the home side shortly before the end, after an Amsterdam penalty corner had failed. The defeat was Rotterdam’s second in two matches under new coach Jeroen Hertzberger. Rotterdam had opened the season with a 3-1 loss at Bloemendaal, while Amsterdam was described as the only club without points in the league despite the reported win.
