Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany became unwell and collapsed while watching a training session on 23 October, after having had a viral infection the previous week. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and initially remained there for several days in a stable condition. Assistant Aaron Danks took charge of Bayern’s matches during his absence. Kompany left hospital on 28 October. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said doctors had found an irritation of the meninges. Kompany is on the way to a full recovery, but no date has been set for his return and he is not involved in Bayern’s match preparations.
