Art Groenenboom, 75, sought to draw attention to loneliness among people in the Netherlands at De Meent shopping centre in Papendrecht. He offered passers-by a free keychain, but mainly invited them to talk by asking how they were doing.

Groenenboom said he had experienced considerable loneliness in his youth and that this had motivated his efforts.
