Annemiek Scheele, 36, works during the week as a product designer for a software company and spends weekends pursuing a more sustainable approach to maternity clothing by renting it out. She said she had no prior entrepreneurial experience but believed she could make the venture work.

She also raised the practical question of how to take good product photographs now that her pregnancy belly is gone.
