Working status holders given up to three extra years for integration

VVD Minister for Work and Participation Thierry Aartsen has said that status holders with jobs will be allowed up to three additional years to complete their integration course. The arrangement applies to newcomers who work at least 28 hours a week in a part-time job.

Expansion of employment support at asylum-seeker centres

The cabinet said that 12 additional asylum-seeker centres will open a Meedo Desk this year to help asylum seekers find paid work or volunteer roles. Minister for Participation Thierry Aartsen said the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment will provide an additional €5 million a year for the programme.
