Work on the next phase of the renovation of Weesp railway station was scheduled for the weekend on tracks 5 and 6. The platforms are being adjusted to create more space for passengers, including changes to the platform roofs and columns, removal of existing waiting areas near the stairs and lifts, and redesigned platform furniture. The work on tracks 5 and 6 is scheduled to continue until Monday, 19 October.
ProRail has been working on the platforms for almost three months. The station is intended to be able to handle 30,000 passengers a day by 2040, and the overall work is scheduled for completion by spring 2027.
