Wicker was presented as a whimsical fairy-tale comedy about Fishwoman and her husband, who is made of reeds. Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård star in the film.

The film was also described as a satire on patriarchy, centred on a woman whose husband is a braid and on the jealous reactions of other women in her village.
