Westerveld council debates rules for ornamental cultivation

The Westerveld municipal council debated whether to proceed with rules aimed at curbing ornamental cultivation or wait. The council had clearly called for action about a year and a half earlier, but the parties were not united on how to proceed. Council president Hilbert Stel said there was still another week to decide.

The debate was affected by a national framework agreement on crop-protection products that was still being developed. National developments had therefore overtaken the municipality's discussion, and it remained undecided whether Westerveld would continue or wait.
