Weghorst and Arokodare prayed together after Twente-Ajax

After FC Twente and Ajax drew 2-2, Twente attacker Wout Weghorst and Ajax striker Tolu Arokodare reportedly held hands and prayed together. Weghorst said they knew each other well and had often had conversations about faith. Their relationship reportedly began during a friendly between KRC Genk and Burnley, when Arokodare asked Weghorst for advice after the match, and they had stayed in contact since then.

Weghorst scored Twente’s equalizer from the penalty spot in stoppage time. He and Arokodare pointed at each other afterwards, hugged and thanked each other before praying together. Weghorst said both were religious and that they had each been important in the match.
