Water flows in the Rhine were expected to rise substantially in the following weeks, with about 570,000 litres more water per second expected by the end of the month than at the time of the report.

Work also began in Wijk bij Duurstede on a new pumping facility intended to transfer up to 6,000 litres of water per second from the Rhine to the Kromme Rijn during drought. The water is intended to supply waterways in Utrecht as well.
