Large piles of waste, including sofas, full garbage bags, furniture and loose debris, have accumulated in and around the Waddenstraat in Haarlem. Residents said the situation had continued for about four weeks and was unsanitary; one neighbor estimated that at least three tonnes of waste were visible nearby. Housing corporation Pré Wonen plans to demolish four apartment buildings in the coming months and build new homes there later. Residents had recently been required to leave their homes, while the waste remained in the area. The account ends before stating what further action was planned.
