Viewing held at squatted villa in Amstelveen

A real estate agent showed potential buyers around Anna’s Hoeve, a former business building on the Amsteldijk Noord in Amstelveen that is being offered with a large plot of land for about five million euros. The property has been occupied by squatters for months, with between 10 and 14 people reportedly living there in small rooms made from canvas. The viewing began with a discussion about a camera, but the squatters allowed it to continue, although one stayed close to the group. The agent warned that he would call the police if they did not cooperate.

The property has been owned since 2021 by Swedish real estate entrepreneur Lars Erik Magnusson, who initially planned to build a new farm but later decided to sell. A court ruled last summer that the squatters could remain for the time being, citing insufficient urgency to clear the property, but ordered them to cooperate with viewings. The agent said the occupation and the extensive construction work made the property harder to sell and that a sale could take considerable time, with professional real estate buyers seen as the most likely prospects.
