A Land Rover Discovery with Danish registration became stuck on the narrow railway bridge on Heumensebaan in Molenhoek on Monday night. Bystanders removed part of a railing and used a tow cable to pull the vehicle free. The car’s side was heavily damaged, and the bridge was also damaged.

The incident was the latest involving the bridge since its renovation in July. One report said the municipality had chosen a narrower roadway despite advice from ProRail for a wider one, while another reported that some people in Molenhoek attributed the incidents to drivers rather than the bridge’s design.
