Unknown people knocked the bronze statue The Moermakkers from its concrete pedestal in Moerstraten during the night from Sunday to Monday, apparently in an attempted theft. A large hammer was found beside the statue. Police carried out a forensic and neighbourhood investigation, and the municipality is filing a complaint.
