Unrest broke out in central Zoetermeer on Friday night during or after a Halloween party, with fights reported between groups of young people. When police intervened, fireworks were thrown at officers, and the mobile unit cleared the area as young people fled, including into parking garages and shops.

Police reported nine arrests on suspicion of disturbing public order. Earlier reports had put the number of arrests at 10; some detainees remain in custody.
