United List wins Latvian parliamentary election

The centrist, pro-Ukrainian United List of Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs won the parliamentary election with a wide lead. With 88 percent of votes counted, it had 36.6 percent of the vote; an earlier report put the figure at 36.5 percent. Pro-Russian Latvia First was second on 13 percent, followed by the right-wing SV on 11.6 percent, according to a preliminary result. Kulbergs said he wants to remain prime minister and ruled out cooperation with Latvia First.
