Alberto Stegeman, 55, infiltrated a conspiracy movement that claims so-called medbeds can cure diseases including cancer, tuberculosis, paralysis and Alzheimer’s, and can regrow missing limbs and organs. The claims lack evidence, while followers believe in the beds’ supposed powers. The investigation also followed two sisters who were concerned that their vulnerable mother had become completely absorbed by the movement. The movement additionally promises that large sums of money will soon be released.
