Abdel B., 30, who was accused of setting fire to an apartment building in Roosendaal at the end of last year, has remained in prison pending his criminal case. The case is awaiting a psychiatrist’s report, although the psychiatrist has not yet seen him. A district attorney called the situation undesirable.

Separately, the municipality of Roosendaal is examining whether it can ban repeated short-term accommodation of migrant workers for periods of less than 30 days, amid concerns about their living conditions.
