Two of the five nominated essays for the Joost Zwagerman Essay Prize were withdrawn after a scan using the AI detector Pangram found that the texts had partly been produced with artificial intelligence. The jury reported the withdrawals.

The authors withdrew their entries after consultation, according to one report. A later report said this followed reporting by student magazine Propria Cures.
