A storytelling city walk through the darker history of Assen was scheduled for Friday 23 October. Participants were to be guided through the city by a storyteller, with old stories, forgotten souls and eerie legends forming part of the experience.

A Ukrainian afternoon was scheduled for 24 October from 14:00 to 17:00 at the new district building De Wilg on Wilgenbeemd 2 in Marsdijk. The programme was to include Ukrainian stories and music, as well as Ukrainian and Dutch sweet and savoury treats.
