Trijntje Esser-van Dalfsen from Zwartsluis was 96 when a doctor asked whether she wanted treatment or no more treatment. She replied that she wanted to go on for a while. She later turned 107 and, at 104, asked how long her pacemaker would last, responding to the answer that it would not last longer with, “Oh, no longer?” She was described as never tiring of life.
