Trial over police chase in Roosendaal

Prosecutors sought a three-year prison sentence, including 10 months suspended, for Dylan B. over a police chase through Roosendaal in April. He was accused of attempted manslaughter after allegedly driving toward an officer, and of twice reversing toward officers on Laan in Luxemburg, narrowly missing them and hitting a police vehicle. Officers eventually forced his car off the road near the A58; he fled on foot before being detained with a Taser.

B. apologized to officers in court and agreed to pay compensation of €750 and €1,000. He said he had panicked and had been afraid to stop after an earlier encounter with police. His lawyer disputed the most serious charges and sought a more lenient sentence. The court is due to rule on 3 November.
