Truck driver Jerry van den E., 56, was tried over the death of 16-year-old Guusje Roelofs, who was hit and killed when his truck turned right at the junction of Piuslaan and Leenderweg in Eindhoven on 4 November 2024. Both the truck and Roelofs, who was cycling straight ahead, had a green light. The driver said she had remained in his blind spot, while the prosecution said police findings showed that she had been visible twice, up to five seconds before the collision.
