A 28-year-old police officer from Veghel, who worked as a district officer in Tilburg, appeared at a first public hearing in Breda on suspicion of providing police information to criminals. Prosecutors alleged that criminals quickly obtained information after he made inquiries, and that they approached him after the arrest of a corrupt official, Jim B. The officer, identified as Furkan U., denied leaking information. He was the second Tilburg district officer arrested that year, according to one report.
