Storm-related rail disruption around Haarlem
◆3 sources
Fallen trees disrupted rail services around Haarlem on Sunday evening. No trains were running between Haarlem and Zandvoort, while fewer Sprinter services were operating between Haarlem and Amsterdam Centraal. Limited replacement buses ran between Haarlem, Overveen and Zandvoort aan Zee.
The expected end time for the disruption was reported differently: one report put it at about 23:15, while another expected it to continue until 01:00. A cyclist was killed after a tree fell on them in Amsterdam Nieuw-West earlier that day. A single report also described tree damage to cars in central Amsterdam and Amsterdam-Noord in the preceding days; the driver in the latter incident was taken to hospital urgently.
