Traffic jams were reported on the N247 from Amsterdam towards Volendam because of roadworks near Monnickendam. Waiting times ranged from 30 minutes to an hour, although they varied quickly, and traffic was temporarily at a standstill for about half an hour. The delays followed weeks and months of extensive asphalt maintenance.

Part of the provincial road had also been closed the previous weekend. The road is due to close again next weekend near the bridge to Edam, with traffic diverted via the N244 and the A7.
