Toyota defends combustion engines and presents new hybrid drives in Brussels

Toyota went to Brussels to defend retaining combustion engines as the European automotive industry faces a possible move away from fossil fuels from 2035. The Japanese manufacturer, known for its hybrid cars combining petrol and electric motors, presented a completely new generation of hybrid drives and said it is a European car manufacturer.

Toyota also criticized European mobility policy, saying it could be more realistic.
