Artist Tjitske Dijkstra, 64, called on people to crochet a thousand cranes for peace. She plans to travel around the country with a “hug wall” to places where a peace message is needed, including asylum seekers’ centres. The reports differ on the location from which she made the appeal: one placed her in Ulrum, while the later report said she made it from her workshop in Dokkum.
