The introduction of underground waste containers in Tilburg’s city centre was reported to have made the streets quieter, reduced the number of garbage trucks and improved the street view. At the same time, reports of waste dumping increased considerably. The municipality sees advantages in the system, but cannot say whether waste is now separated better or worse. Residents’ views are being sought.
