Three names added to the City Hall disaster memorial in Heusden

Heusden commemorated the victims of the 1944 City Hall disaster with 137 candles, after three names were added to the memorial. The additions followed a question from Jan Dekkers about why his grandmother was not included among the victims; two other names were also added.

For years, 134 victims had been commemorated. The disaster occurred when the town hall tower was blown up while about 200 people were hiding in the basement. The commemoration now lists 137 victims.
