Three men from Leiden and Rijnsburg who were arrested in October 2021 over a possible abduction of a person from Leiderdorp were acquitted of kidnapping. Two of the men were sentenced to eight months in prison for blackmailing the victim. They have already served that sentence in pretrial detention.
