Jannie de Roos-Heldoorn, 83, watched from her new balcony as her former flat on Schuurmanstraat was dismantled. Workers in white protective suits were removing asbestos from the apartment, while clotheslines remained hanging from the old balcony. It was the last of six flats on the street to be demolished.
