Evening marathon returns to Challenge Almere-Amsterdam

The evening marathon at Challenge Almere-Amsterdam will return next year after its first edition, which was held as part of the event’s 45th anniversary. The organization said it received many requests for another edition and considered the event a success, with marathon runners sharing the course with triathletes and passing four times through the stadium on the Esplanade.

The second edition is scheduled for September 11 and will have a maximum of 350 participants. The 42.2-kilometre course starts at 16:45 on the Esplanade, follows four laps around the Weerwater and finishes in the stadium. Part of the route will be run in darkness and will be illuminated. Participants must finish by 22:45 and begin their final lap by 21:00.
