The Biettocht was held at Fort Henricus, where the spectacle was reported to begin with horses attached. Anita van Nispen attended after wanting to see the event for years but being unable to do so because of work and other obligations. She said she had learned to skate along the Vliet and had also wanted to see the Biettocht.
