Telstar’s stadium in Velsen-Zuid was evacuated after the Eredivisie match against Feyenoord, after two fireworks had been fired onto the field during the first half and green smoke had spread across it. A specialist explosives team searched the stadium; the object was later identified as a smoke bomb and secured.
At least 1,000 supporters were present and left quietly after being instructed to do so. Police cordons were placed around the stadium and the adjacent grounds were closed. The stadium was released after almost an hour and a half.
