Telstar’s cup elimination and supporter chants

Telstar lost 2-0 at home to Almere City and was eliminated from the KNVB Cup. The team created few chances in a largely closed match and conceded twice on the counterattack in the second half.

After the match, supporters directed chants at coach Henk Bruges, including calls for him to leave. Bruges said he understood the supporters’ emotions after Telstar had gone 10 matches without a win, while accepting responsibility for the team’s performances. Player Marvin Peersman said there were many areas for improvement but rejected portraying the team as victims.
