A 15-year-old cyclist was stopped by police in Apeldoorn while riding a mountain bike fitted with a homemade system that reportedly allowed it to reach 84 km/h. He fled when officers tried to stop him and threw the bicycle at an officer, who sustained serious injuries. The mountain bike was confiscated and destroyed.
