Talks planned on noise restrictions at VV Unicum

◆1 source

Lelystad alderman Sanne de Wilde said she would organise a meeting between football club VV Unicum and the Flevoland and Gooi- en Vechtstreek environmental service (OFGV) to discuss restrictions imposed because of noise at the club’s fields. She made the commitment during a council meeting after the PVV requested that the measures be withdrawn immediately. Since 1 October, Unicum has not been allowed to use a public-address system or drums during home matches at Schouw sports park, or to announce the teams with music. Torches and fireworks are also prohibited. The OFGV said measurements showed that noise around the fields was too high and that the club had breached the rules. Residents, particularly in the Gondel district, had complained about nuisance from the football fields for years.

Residents oppose proposed memorial site in Lelystad's Silver Park

1 source

Residents of the Zilverparkkade in Lelystad have asked the municipality to review the proposed site for a new memorial in Silver Park. They fear the monument could become a gathering place and worsen existing nuisance. Their representative, Ronald Bogaard, addressed the city council on Tuesday evening. The city council selected the site in 2024. Residents of the neighbouring Muntstraat and Neringweg previously objected, after which the municipality began a new procedure. According to the Zilverparkkade residents, they were not involved in the proposal's preliminary stage and only learned about it through the media, apart from a general presentation by then-alderman Kruis in 2024.
