TalentNED, the Enschede-based skating talent programme founded by Gerard Kemkers, will cease operations after the 2026/27 skating season. The programme initially operated as a professional team before focusing exclusively on talent development from 2020, with athletes living, training and studying at the TalentNED Academy in Enschede.

TalentNED said it was ending because cooperation with the wider Dutch skating world, including structural cooperation with the KNSB, had not been established. It said it had experienced limited support and opposition to its work.
