Tadej Pogačar said in his first interview since his crash in the Vuelta at the end of August that he had broken a cervical vertebra and that a CT scan in Slovenia, carried out two weeks earlier, had revealed two further injuries. The reports differ over those additional injuries: one described them as two more vertebrae, while another described them as two sternum injuries.
