Suzanne van de Graaf, now 40, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35 while working full time and raising two young children. She said she did not want to see herself only as a patient, and wanted to continue working and remain a mother to her children. She wrote about these experiences in the book *Mothers of Steel Don't Rust*.
