A 39-year-old man from Oosterhout was given a four-month suspended prison sentence for threatening, insulting and harassing several people, including a bakery family in Oudenbosch, a doctor, a lawyer, a care institution, municipal officials, a customer and a couple from whom he had sought to buy a house. He must comply with contact and location bans for five years and pay a total of €3,400 in compensation to several injured parties. The one month he had already spent in custody was also imposed as prison time.
The court ordered the measures to take effect immediately. Each breach of a contact or location ban can result in seven days in prison. It said there was a serious risk of further offences, noting that he had not cooperated with a probation assessment and had continued his conduct despite earlier conditions. He did not attend the hearing and had reported from his home address in Spain that he could not come.
