Several sick and dead ducks, along with other birds, were found at the Kristalbad nature area between Hengelo and Enschede. Eight birds, mostly ducks, have been found there over the past two weeks and may have avian flu.

The animal ambulance and water authority Vechtstromen warned visitors not to touch sick or dead birds and to keep dogs on a leash. The suspected cases have not been confirmed as avian flu.
