Support waiting list for childcare-benefit victims in Almere falls by a third
◆1 source
More than 3,100 parents and children affected by the childcare-benefit affair have registered with the municipality of Almere for help, according to the latest figures on the Broad Support Programme. Nearly 1,000 have completed the support process, while more than 1,200 are currently receiving assistance with issues including finances, housing, health and well-being. That number is more than twice as high as a year earlier.
The municipality said the waiting list had fallen by about a third over the past year and that its capacity to provide support had improved in 2026. Alderman Aya Selman said the work was not yet finished and that families still affected by the affair needed appropriate support.
